A gallery-influenced Bed and Breakfast, Dreamings is devoted to Inuit, First Nations, and Canadian artists.  Accomplished as well as rising Canadian artists’ works grace the walls of this truly unique guest house. Showcasing many of British Columbia’s finest artisans and craftspeople,  Dreamings speaks to the elemental connection of all things wild and natural and honours the creative spirit.

A Nature Sanctuary

Nestled in the unspoiled wilderness of East Sooke, a scenic 45-minute drive from Victoria, this arcadian, yet elegant, retreat is a sanctuary from the demands of everyday life. Surrounded by a ragged rock confine and a backdrop of towering firs, Dreamings was designed to complement the natural beauty of its surroundings.

Custom rustic log furnishings appoint two themed rooms with elegant linens, organic bath essentials, and luxurious organic cotton bathrobes.

Your Host

Your host Josephine Smith welcomes you with her passion for art and nature. Guests will enjoy early morning coffee in the lavender rock gardens with Jo and the resident pets. The four elements Adirondack chairs provide a welcoming setting for easy conversations and a inspiring beginning to the unfolding day.

Creative Organic Cuisine

Striving to provide guests with the finest healthy foods, Jo seeks out local suppliers of fresh organic products from Vancouver Island’s farmers. From her love of cooking comes imaginatively created breakfasts that are a sensuous delight.

Environmentally Conscious

As a devoted naturalist, Jo is committed to the environment with recycled and eco-friendly products. As well, her focus and happy planet efforts support organic farming, Fair Trade, artisan creations, and natural goods.
